Intex Projects awarded £3.6m office fit-out project at 103 Colmore Row

Intex Projects has been awarded a £3.6m contract to fit-out flexible workspace provider x+why at 103 Colmore Row.  Intex Projects will fit out 31,500 sq ft of space on floors one to three to include self-contained offices, co-working space and meeting rooms. It will also create a new members' club on the 18th floor, to be called ‘Eighteen', which includes a business lounge, break-out space and dining and bar facilities along with a 3,000 sq ft outdoor terrace overlooking the city centre. The facility is opening in October.

Intex won the brief after completing the fit-out of x+why’s new operation at 6 Brindleyplace, called Foundry.

Phil Nevin, chief creative officer at x+why, said "We are thrilled to be on site with this exciting project. "The addition of the clubspace, Eighteen, alongside the flexible workspace, meeting, event and co-working space sees this landmark building incredibly well served from an amenity perspective."

Charles Wolverson, director at Intex Projects, added: "We are delighted to be working again with x+why on this very exciting scheme. It will provide a new level of flexible working in the Birmingham central business district, as well as offering the unique venue of the 18th floor members' club offering some of the best views of Birmingham. "Our collaborative approach on Foundry proved to be very successful and we will be approaching this project in a similar manner, working very closely with interior architects Squire and Partners, quantity surveyors Core 5 and the team at x+why."
