Stoke-on-Trent City Council is working in partnership with developer Nimrod Holdings can reveal plans have been submitted for an exciting major development at the iconic Spode Pottery Works.

The plans are for brand-new homes, state-of-the-art leisure facilities and the possibility of a world-class gymnasium and are being brought by experienced residential real estate developer Nimrod Holdings.

Designs of the potential residentially led scheme have been worked up by leading architecture practice Studio RBA.

The plans represent the further major redevelopment of the historic Elenora Street site. If approved, the development will help act as an economic generator by providing local jobs and training opportunities.

The City Council ran an open call to the market which concluded in July 2020. Nimrod, after evaluation were the preferred bidder given the submissions received, whilst there have been delays that are pandemic related, we are in a position to move forward.

Councillor Daniel Jellyman, cabinet member for regeneration, infrastructure and heritage has said: “The legacy at Spode is one that will continue to grow. The opportunities that are unfolding with our latest Levelling Up plans are ones not to be missed. We are helping to future-proof small businesses and start-ups with office space and encouraging footfall back into our town centres.
