Plans to revamp Birmingham Methodist Central Hall have been revealed

Plans have been announced to tranform Central Methodist Hall into . 155 bedroom hotel, complete with a new three-storey extension to provide a flagship Sophie's restaraunt and bar.

The hotel-led destination scheme includes a full restoration of the Central Hall into a stunning new 1500-capacity event space to become one of the city’s premier event spaces. Grade II* listed and built in 1904, the largely vacant and derelict building is to be rebranded as The Dean Birmingham.

Ground and basement are to feature a series of public bars, restaurants, and leisure brands, including a ‘Creative Cedar’ Power Gym, a traditional barber’s shop, meeting rooms, and ‘The Dalton Club’ - a members club/ cocktail bar.

To boost viability and to facilitate the new glazed restaurant, the existing roof is to be removed and raised up a storey above the main hall, allowing for the full restoration of the Central Hall for future generations to enjoy.
