University of Warwick – Mathematic Centre

An abstract layout was created in the ground floor of the atrium at the University of Warwick’s Mathematical Sciences Building using two colours from Solus’ Travertine 1 range, perfectly complementing the contemporary architecture of the building.

Designed by the award-winning team at Associated Architects, the six-storey building provides students, staff and academics with a ‘without walls’ concept, where teaching, research and office spaces are combined together within the scheme.

Centred around the central atrium, the design features glazed curtain walling and a contemporary pitched glazed ceiling, creating a spaced filled with natural light. Overlooked by lecture theatres, offices, research rooms, chill out spaces and walkways, the atrium has a vibrant, lively feeling that encourages collaboration.

The design scheme is focused on a neutral palette of grey shades and natural wood elements, all tied together with colourful pops of orange.
