Birmingham’s biggest office fit-out and refurbishment scheme at 10 Brindleyplace

Our Building Brum partners Willmott Dixon and their construction team in the Midlands are working in partnership with Willmott Dixon Interiors to deliver the full refit and refurbishment of Birmingham’s landmark 10 Brindleyplace office block on behalf of CBRE Global Investors.

The redevelopment will combine buildings 10 and 8 Brindleyplace into one building to create a single floor by floor open office space of 212,000 sq ft over twelve floors and deliver one of Birmingham’s largest available floorplates at over 27,000 sq ft.

Benefitting from the knowledge and skills of both Willmott Dixon construction and interiors businesses, the scheme which is due to complete in Spring 2022, will include an internal reconfiguration, with the construction of a brand new double-height reception space. This will address Oozells Square and Cumberland Street and the creation of a new entrance to Broad Street.

An extension to the office floor plates on floors one to six will create almost 15,000 square foot of additional space and facilitate a range of occupier amenities including a gymnasium and cycle storage hub, electric vehicle charging points and a ground floor cafe.

CBRE Global Investors has appointed a wider project team that includes Associated Architects, Thamesis as development manager, RLF as quantity surveyor, project management by Venture, the specialist project management team within Workman, structural engineer Cundall, M&E engineer Couch Perry Wilkes, and façade consultant Wintech.

The scheme is characterised by its strong sustainable and environmental credentials and has been designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent and a 53% carbon reduction compared to the pre-refurbishments.

It will also be Birmingham’s first building to receive Fitwel accreditation, a standard that measures occupant health and wellbeing.
